Wastewater Plant Manager Duties & Salary in Japan

In Japan, a Waste Water Technician, or "排水技術者" (Haisui Gijutsusha) in Japanese, is responsible for the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities. Japan is known for its technological advancements, unique culture, and bustling cities like Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. Waste water technicians can find work opportunities in various regions across the country. Their main duties include monitoring the treatment process, conducting tests to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, and performing maintenance tasks. Waste Water Technicians contribute to Japan's commitment to environmental sustainability and the preservation of its natural resources. An exciting fact is that Japan has implemented advanced wastewater treatment technologies, including membrane filtration and water reuse systems, to ensure efficient and eco-friendly operations.

To thrive in this role, key skills required are a solid understanding of wastewater treatment technologies, knowledge of relevant regulations and environmental standards, and the ability to use specialized equipment for testing and maintenance. Strong problem-solving abilities are essential to address operational issues and ensure optimal plant performance. Experience in water treatment or a related field is typically preferred, and vocational training programs or technical diplomas in water management can be advantageous.

The expected salary range for Waste Water Technicians in Japan can vary based on factors such as experience and location. In major cities like Tokyo or Osaka, technicians can expect an annual salary range of JPY 3,000,000 to JPY 4,500,000. However, in smaller towns or rural areas, the salary range may be slightly lower, averaging around JPY 2,500,000 to JPY 3,500,000 per year.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a great gig listing? arrow-right
The gig is a defined task, with a pre-determined outcome. If you ensure your scope of expected work is detailed, with a level of quality specified, this will reduce any miscommunication/misinterpretation when gig workers review.
Are gig workers verified? Can I trust them? arrow-right
All gig workers must be identity verified by Stripe when registering as a gig worker. This adds an additional level of trust to our platform. Because we offer a reputation service, you can also see all historical work conducted by the worker. This quickly builds trust within the marketplace, but also removes fraudsters and scammers. Any behaviour that breaches our platform standards results in those worker being removed from our platform.
My type of work isn’t listed under any classification? arrow-right
We provide a free text option. Please update and we will review and update accordingly.
What is the difference between a fixed price & negotiable gig? arrow-right
When you set a fixed price gig, the price is non-negotiable, so anyone applying for the gig agrees to the price set in the gig listing. Negotiable gigs have no price set on the listing, but allow the gig lister and gig workers to negotiate through the private chat portals. Once an agreement is made, the scope or works and price is updated on the gig listing and agreed to by both gig lister and worker. With a negotiable gig, you can also make a change to the scope of the gig once it is in flight. Please note, any new price is just for the additional work, not the total value of the old and new.
